IBM Mainframe Career Exploration Day at Lone Star College-Tomball
High school and college students as well as educators are invited to learn more about Enterprise Systems and the critical role they play in industry at IBM's Career Exploration Day on Feb. 27 at Lone Star College-Tomball.
The first session will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and the second session will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Both sessions will be held in the Beckendorf Conference Center.
More than 70 percent of the world's data resides behind and is accessed by a mainframe. Attendees will see an IBM System z Mainframe in operation and will be able to visit with IBM experts. IBM business partners and mainframe users will be on hand to discuss careers in Enterprise Systems.
There will also be a hands-on workshop for instructors and for college students interested in learning how to install Linux on the mainframe.
