LSC-Montgomery Student Earns Highly-Coveted Perk for Registering Early
Heather Gary, a human services major at Lone Star College-Montgomery, earned quite the prize for registering early for her Spring semester classes. As part of a goal to get more students to sign up prior to the winter break, college officials held an incentive-filled, two-week registration blitz in December. Hundreds of students took advantage of the free t-shirts, hot dogs and, for one lucky student—Gary—a front row parking spot for the entire semester.
“Our registration blitz was a very successful and fun way to get our students to think ahead and get set for the next semester,” said Dr. Jade Borne, dean of student services at LSC-Montgomery. “They were able to avoid the lines and hectic pace that often accompanies the week leading up to the start of the semester.”
Gary, who plans to pursue a career as a licensed chemical dependency counselor when she finishes her human services program in May, was excited to hear the news, knowing that she won’t have to spend time searching for a closer spot to park.
Registration for the Spring semester is ongoing through Saturday, January 10, and advisors are available on site to help students with admission, registration, advising, financial aid, and more. The Spring semester begins Monday, January 12.
