C.C. Sutphen, North Harris College’s media relations manager was recently awarded a Gold Paragon Award for Best Media Success Story in 2006 from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations at its national conference held in San Diego Mar. 18 through 21. The NCMPR Paragon Awards recognize outstanding achievements in communications at community, junior and technical colleges. It’s the only national competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and PR professionals at two-year colleges. This year, there were more than 2,000 entries competing for 70 awards in the fields of broadcast and print marketing initiatives. NCMPR is an affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges. Winners are announced each year at the organization’s national conference and their work is also showcased at AACC national conferences. Sutphen has been employed by North Harris College since 1996.
