L.I.F.E. WorkshopJoin the discussions on Irish lore, architectural homes, water fountains and favorite recipes at this month’s weekly Lone Star College-CyFair L.I.F.E. workshops.

These free Learning, Inspiration, Friendship and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs are available Wednesdays through virtual presentations and accessible for one week. There is no July 1 session in observance of Independence Day holiday.

July 8: Travel Series - The Wearin’ of the Green

Saint Patrick’s Day was in March, but keep up the Irish spirit with children’s librarian Jen Crouse, who has learned all sorts of interesting Irish lore from her visit to the Emerald Isle last year.

July 15: How to Identify Architectural Home Styles

As you walk around the block, do you ever wonder what style the homes are in your neighborhood? Library Director Susan Green and her architect husband, Mark, take us on an architectural tour of the basic types of homes.

July 22: A Water Feature DIY

Don Watson, Cindy’s husband and grower of exotic plants, shows step-by-step how to create your own backyard water fountain.

July 29: The Cooped-Up Cookbook: Food, Love in the Time of Quarantine

Leah Stark, children’s reference assistant, tells how our ancestors cooked during hard times such as the victory gardens in WWII when some food items were scarce. Discover ways you can find joy through cooking today. We are compiling a quarantine cookbook with your recipes submitted to choffart@LoneStar.edu by July 1.
