HOUSTON (June 11, 2020) – Children have a fun and educational way to learn this summer with activities offered online through Lone Star College-North Harris’ Discovery College.
Due to changes as a result of COVID-19, this year’s Discovery College summer camp will take place online for children ages 9 – 12. Registration is now open for the activities, which run from June 15 – July 16.
“Moving Discovery College online allows students to participate in a unique learning experience that most summer camps can’t provide,” said Christina Boutte, LSC-North Harris Campus Director of Continuing Education. “Our staff worked diligently to adapt to the challenges associated with COVID-19 allowing our campers to continue learning over the summer.”
Campers can choose from three activities that provide an engaging and fun atmosphere while learning at a safe distance. The options offered through LSC-North Harris are Candy Creations, Lights, Camera, & Action, and Real Math for Real Life.
“The three options open the students to exploring their creativity while interacting with our instructors,” said Boutte. “The time learning will go beyond Discovery College and give the students a foundation to continue learning on their own."
Each live two-hour online program is open to a maximum of 10 students to ensure one-on-one interaction with the instructors. All activities offered cost $115 each and run Monday – Thursday for two weeks.
