As the nation begins to return to work, having the right skill set is more important than ever. Lone Star College can provide you with the Career and Technical Education (CTE) training to put you on the path to an exciting new career, or help you update your skills.
“Having the right expertise is critical in today’s job market,” said Linda Leto Head, LSC senior associate vice chancellor, External and Employer Relations. “Now is the perfect time to prepare yourself to rejoin the workforce.”
LSC has developed over 200 online CTE classes which gives students the flexibility to study at their convenience. Programs include Business and Professional Services; Computer/Digital Technology; Energy, Manufacturing and Construction; Health Sciences; Public Safety; and Education.
“Funding is now available for high demand careers,” said Head. “The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act is funding up to 100% of education costs plus unemployment benefits for those who have recently been displaced or currently unemployed.”
Students can also apply for funding under the Texas Public Education Grant for fast track training.
LSC CTE students can complete training online and then get hands-on training in an LSC Workforce Center of Excellence which are adhering to regulations set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to provide safe instruction.
Class start dates are available throughout the year and many students qualify for financial assistance which covers educational expenses including tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Students enrolled in LSC CTE programs can earn Fast Track, non-credit workforce certificates designed for quick entry into the workforce. LSC also offers select industry certifications that prepare a student for state, national or global industry-recognized credentials.
