Lone Star College is offering virtual summer camp classes with Discovery College. LSC Discovery College provides the opportunity for children to explore and expand their interests and skills in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) focused classes.
“We know that summer plans for many families have been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Stephen C. Head, Ph.D., LSC chancellor. “Lone Star College remains committed to providing educational opportunities that support our community and continue our mission to improve lives.”
Nearly 60 STEAM courses will be available this summer. All classes are live with only 10 students per class, allowing one-on-one virtual interaction. A secure video conferencing tool is used to provide reliability and consistency for each student.
“Students will be taught by LSC certified and experienced faculty who will provide an engaging and fun atmosphere while learning at a distance,” said Conner O’Sullivan, LSC Continuing Education executive director. “Space is limited so we encourage parents to enroll their child today.”
Classes run June 15 through July 16 and will feature a wide variety of subjects including Robotics; Webpage Development; Digital World of Photography; Geology; and Jump Start Trigonometry.
