The Summer Reading Program offers a book club and cookbook activity for adults.
First join Blue Willow Book Shop owner, Valerie Koehler, for her top reads at the June 3 e Learning, Inspiration, Friendship and Enrichment L.I.F.E. program.
Next consider being part of the “The Cooped-Up Cook Book: Food, Love in the Time of Quarantine” cookbook. Send a favorite recipe and a note on how it comforts or brings joy. Submit the recipes and a picture of the creation to choffart@LoneStar.edu by July 1 to be entered in the cookbook.
Then attend the July 29 L.I.F.E. program to learn about how they cooked during hard times in the victory gardens in WWII and ways to find joy through cooking today.
