Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, the first woman and the first Latina to be elected to the position, will speak at Lone Star College-North Harris for an event celebrating Women’s History Month.
Attendees will learn about Hidalgo’s path immigrating from Mexico, graduating from Stanford University and ultimately becoming the county judge for the third largest county in the nation.
Hidalgo will speak on Wednesday, March 4, in the Academic Building, Room A-126, from noon – 1 p.m. on the campus located at 2700 W.W. Thorne Drive, Houston, TX. The event is free and open to the public. Hidalgo will share her ideas on how to make Harris County a better place to live and how she gives back by mentoring women across the county.
