Gain a little insight into the world of painting, learn some Irish lore and celebrate the suffrage centennial at Lone Star College-CyFair’s Wednesday workshops this March.
The free Learning, Inspiration, Friendship and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs are held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library (LRNC room 131 unless otherwise noted) at 9191 Barker Cypress.
- March 4: Acrylic Painting for Beginners
Participate in a step-by-step painting project along the lines of “Getting Started with Bob Ross.” Remember him? From 1983-1994 he hosted the PBS TV show “The Joy of Painting.”
- March 11: Spring Break - No Workshop
- March 18: The Wearin’ of the Green
Saint Patrick’s Day was yesterday, but keep up the Irish spirit with children’s librarian Jen Crouse, who has learned all sorts of interesting Irish lore from her visit to the Emerald Isle last year.
- March 25: Suffrage Centennial Celebration
The year 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing and protecting women's constitutional right to vote. Listen and see the music and art of the suffrage era and meet Saxon the Suffrage Cat with librarian Regina Vitolo.
