Resolve to develop new friendships and participate in new social activities in 2020 as member of Lone Star College-CyFair’s Academy for Lifelong Learning (A.L.L.) program.
Students, for whom learning never goes out of style, can get a program overview designed for active adults 50 and better at the A.L.L. Spring Open House. This event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 10 in the Conference Center on the campus at 9191 Barker Cypress.
Approximately 80 classes are offered each semester in Computer and Technology; Culinary Arts, Food and Cooking; Financial and Legal; Fun Hobbies and Recreation; Health, Fitness and Nutrition; History; Home and Auto; Movies, Music and Theatre; Photography; Safety; Science and Nature; Travel and Culture; and more.
Among the returning favorites are: Fire and Life Safety for Seniors, Google Photos, Guarding Your Savings and Investments, just to name a few.
Some of the new classes on the spring schedule are Baked Coconut Shrimp, Estate Planning, Learning Cryptogram Puzzles, Jerusalem and Master Gardening..
An annual membership fee of $25 allows members to attend most classes free (with some requiring only a nominal event, supply or entrance fee.)
Other benefits of membership include use of the college gym as well as discounts at the college’s plays and concerts.
