Speakers discuss future solar power, present body health and past royalty of the Vanderbilts at Lone Star College-CyFair’s Wednesday workshops this January.
The free Learning, Inspiration, Friendship and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs are held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library (LRNC room 131 unless otherwise noted) at 9191 Barker Cypress.
- January 15: Solar Power: Fad or Future?
Dean Kelly Gernhart and VP Ted Louie look into the future of solar power. Will it be the power of choice or is there something else on the horizon? Learn what LSC-CyFair is doing to use this technology.
- January 22: Are You Listening to Your Body?
Your body is literally the only place you have to live for this entire lifetime. Tejal (TJ) Ravani, happiness coach and healer, teaches us to nurture our health by listening to our body.
- January 29: The Vanderbilts - American Royalty and Their Castles
Beginning with Commodore Vanderbilt and on to the Newport “cottages” of the Gilded Era, the Biltmore house, and to the present day CNN newscaster, the Vanderbilt family has been known for its wealth. Library Director Susan Green gives us a glimpse into the Vanderbilts by looking at their lives, their history (1870—1920s), and their architecture.
