Lone Star College-Cypress Center offers home-schooled and private school students an academic opportunity to jump start their college journey. Learn about Dual Credit at one of several information sessions.
“Our center is an official one-stop hub location for TSI testing, advising and enrollment processing of Dual Credit needs for home-schooled students,” said Director Bill Hackley. “We offer in-person, hybrid and online course options while providing comprehensive student support resources.”
Through Dual Credit, students can simultaneously earn both high school and college credit in classes that are transferable to most public universities and colleges. Tuition is free, though some fees do apply. However, there is a savings of $147 for each 3-hour credit class available in the Dual Credit.
Emme Jennings, who is considering a criminal justice career, is taking Dual Credit English and history courses this fall. She said if she can start getting some academic classes done while in high school, it will be easier to start pursuing her career goals sooner.
