Lone Star College has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the15th consecutive year.
LSC was recognized for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
“Earning this acknowledgement is a testament to the hard work done by the Lone Star College Financial Reporting and Operations Department,” said Jennifer Mott, LSC chief financial officer. “I am very proud of our team members and the financial leadership they provide.”
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting by GFOA.
“One of our priorities is to ensure we operate with sound financial practices that are accountable to taxpayers,” said Stephen C. Head, Ph.D., LSC chancellor. “Earning this award represents a significant accomplishment.”
LSC was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to read the annual financial report.
