Enter the magical world of a Victorian traveling show as the Lone Star College-North Harris Drama Department presents “Edward Gant’s Amazing Feats of Loneliness” beginning Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Directed by Professor John Cash Carpenter, the upcoming production centers on Edward Gant, a prodigy, soldier, traveler, poet and consummate showman who presented his famed traveling show for the very last time in 1881. “Edward Gant's Amazing Feats of Loneliness” is a reconstruction of this historic and extraordinary evening of mystery and magic, spectacle and strangeness. Carpenter explains, “It is a theatrical exploration of beauty, morality and wonder.”
“I am very excited to showcase some very talented student actors: Jose Moreno, Tatyana Ramirez, Nicholas Vitela, and Braylon Alexander,” said Carpenter. “The immersive experience into the mad and magical world of Edward Gant will surely leave you laughing, crying and pondering the wonders of life.”
The theatre curtain goes up Tuesday, Feb 19 at 7:30 p.m. The show runs through Saturday, Feb. 23, and each performance is open to the public. Guests will also be treated to a preshow featuring a Victorian Midway Carnival each night from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
