Bring the family for two concerts in one night with Lone Star College-CyFair’s Symphonic Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble Dec. 6.
“Orchestral Dances” and “Jazz Salute” include pieces interwoven with dance themes and a celebration of jazz under the direction of LSC-CyFair’s Brian Herrington and Dr. John Wolfskill respectively.
“Our jazz salute to God, family and country should feel highly patriotic, honorable and fun,” said Dr. Wolfskill.
This double billing of musical entertainment is also an opportunity to help stock the LSC-CyFair “Food for Thought” Food Pantry, said Fine Arts Coordinator Joshua Estrada.
“You can enjoy the concert for free,” said Estrada. “However, we would love to see each patron bring a donation for our food pantry to help students in need. Suggested items are canned chicken, jelly in plastic jars, spaghetti sauce in plastic jars or cans, canned chili, diapers size 4 or 5, and toilet paper.”
This musical evening will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Stage Theatre located in the Center for the Arts building at 9191 Barker Cypress.
