HOUSTON – Lone Star College-University Park, in partnership with University of Houston-Downtown Northwest (UHD-NW), will host the Criminal Justice Job Fair Wednesday, Oct. 10, for students and the community to learn about local career opportunities.

At the job fair, prospective applicants interested in the criminal justice field will have the opportunity to meet law enforcement and criminal justice agencies and organizations. Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, sheriff and constable departments, and juvenile and adult probations agencies will be in attendance.

“The criminal justice job fair is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about the criminal justice program at LSC-University Park and careers in the field,” said LSC-University Park Professor Cassandra Khatri. “Attendees will have the opportunity to network, speak with recruiters one-on-one and get questions they have about internships and jobs answered by experts.”

At LSC-University Park, students are able to work with knowledgeable faculty to earn an associate of arts degree in criminal justice. Students are prepared to then earn a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice at a four-year university and pursue careers in local, state or federal government, private organizations and law enforcement agencies.

Through LSC-University Park’s partnership with UHD-NW, students can complete their associate degree at LSC-University Park and then transfer seamlessly to UHD-NW to continue toward a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree without changing campuses.

The Criminal Justice Job Fair will take place Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in LSC-University Park’s West Dining. LSC-University Park, located at 20515 TX 249 offers various programs of study, including credit and non-credit courses, workforce training, and continuing education classes. Academic programs are designed to be accessible and affordable with financial aid options and convenient payment plans available. Online, hybrid, and short courses are also fully transferable.
