In addition to learning about the amazing potato and faux calligraphy, Lone Star College-CyFair August workshop attendees can enjoy a culinary journey of India, pilgrimage in Spain and tour of Norway.
The Learning, Inspiration, Friendship and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs are held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library (LRNC room 131 unless otherwise noted) at 9191 Barker Cypress.
- August 1 — One Potato, Two Potato
If you love potatoes, then this program is for you. Friends of the Library President, Joan Everson, gives us a little history, a little advice, and a little taste of the amazing potato and all its glorious possibilities.
- August 8 — The Art of the Pilgrimage
Discover the why and how of pilgrimages, specifically the Camino de Santiago in northwest Spain. Professors Matthew Turner and Laura Taggett have first-hand experience on this particular pilgrimage of Saint James.
- August 15 — Faux Calligraphy
Learn faux calligraphy with Bernadette of Hey Bernadette Design and Calligraphy. Create your own greeting card using lettering as art.
- August 22 — Indian Street Food
From Bombay to Mumbai, let Usha Dontharaju take you on a culinary journey around the multifaceted country of India.
- August 29 — Norway in a Nutshell
Experience scenic mountain railways, UNESCO World Heritage sites, and fjord cruises with Librarian Lauren Hall who shares travel experiences in Norway as both a guest and a tourist. Enjoy a uniquely Norwegian treat.
