Careers in the business of healthcare is more than saving lives.   Join Carol Smith, an independent Healthcare Information System consultant, for insight into the analytics of community healthcare needs.

“Healthcare organizations must determine the needs of a specific population and community to provide the best in services,” said Ellen Junious, LSC-CyFair business professor and series coordinator. “Carol, who has 30 years of experience in healthcare, believes consumer engagement is essential for decision-making.”

She will discuss the growing need for understanding the importance of healthcare data analytics and information systems as well as the variety of career opportunities in this field.

This semester’s last Speaking of Business Series presentation is titled “The Business of Healthcare and Information Systems: Understanding and Analyzing Healthcare Needs.”

Light refreshments will be served at this May 1 event held from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. in the Conference Center at 9191 Barker Cypress; however, space is limited.
