HOUSTON – LSC-University Park will welcome future students and their families to an Open House event on Thursday, April 12, and future employees to an Adjunct Career Fair on Thursday, April 19.
“The Open House and Adjunct Career Fair events are great opportunities for future students and faculty members to learn more about LSC-University Park and see our positive impact on the community,” said Dr. Shah Ardalan, LSC-University Park president. “As one of the fastest growing community colleges in the country, we offer high-quality programs and employment opportunities that allow students and educators to pursue their passions.”
At the carnival-themed Open House, students, families and community members are invited to get a sense of the LSC-University Park college experience in a stress-free way; attendees can tour campus facilities, meet faculty and staff, and learn more about academic programs.
“Open House is a high-energy, engaging evening where we open our doors to the community,” said Dr. Zack Coapland, vice president of student success at LSC-University Park. “Faculty and staff come out in full force to help tell the LSC-University Park story and answer questions about academic programs and college life.”
LSC-University Park offers a variety of academic transfer degrees, along with state-of-the-art workforce and career training programs to help students launch successful careers. Advisers, financial aid representatives, and faculty will be available to make applying and enrolling in fall and summer classes seamless.
Prospective employees who want more information about becoming a faculty member at LSC-University Park are encouraged to attend the Adjunct Career Fair on April 19 at the college’s Energy and Manufacturing Institute (EMI).
The college is seeking talented instructors who are committed to providing excellent learning experiences to help students prepare for their futures.
At the event, prospective employees will meet with department chairs to learn about employment opportunities in the following disciplines: science, criminal justice, speech, government, drama, Spanish and math. Positions are needed for various types of classes including face-to-face, online and hybrid. Details and required qualifications can be viewed at LoneStar.edu/26796.
“With the help of the hiring fairs, we have been very fortunate to attract an amazing number of world-class professionals who are eager to work with our students,” said Ardalan. “They bring real-world experience into the classroom, and our students benefit from their experience.”
