Lone Star College-CyFair’s Visual Communication Department is hosting an open house April 12 for those creative types wondering what’s next on their academic and career path.
“At LSC-CyFair we believe in ‘igniting and exciting’ student interest and understanding in ways other than traditional education,” said Professor of Graphic Arts, Kisha Cormier. “As a workforce program, we bring the real world into our classrooms and educational environment by working with non-profit organizations, assigning real-world scenario-based projects, and events involving those in the digital media industry.”
The upcoming “Vizually Expressed” open house event includes Q&A panel discussions with topics such as “What’s Next?: The Graduation After Party” and “Social Media: Professionalism and Purpose.” The event also features information on the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Visual Communication as well as advice on summer and fall class registration. In addition, attendees can view displayed artwork, have a chance to receive free swag giveaways and meet with digital media businesses from the Houston area.
The “Vizually Expressed” event will be held from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Technology Building lobby (in front of the dean’s suite 123) at LSC-CyFair. Coffee and refreshments will be served.
