Now in its 21st year, Lone Star College-Montgomery is bringing back ‘Healthier U,’ a community-wide wellness expo and job fair that provides scholarships for students while promoting healthy living. Mark your calendars: events take place Wednesday, April 4 and Thursday, April 5 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the LSC-Montgomery campus.
The expo is open to the public. Attendees can learn more about getting and staying fit at free demonstrations with giveaways from local health-related businesses.
“We are proud to support our high-achieving students,” said Joe Garza, ‘Healthier U’ event coordinator. “LSC-Montgomery is meeting the demand for skilled healthcare gradates through our small class sizes, high-tech training labs, community affiliations, and a 100 percent licensure exam pass rates for radiologic technology, physical therapist assistant, and nursing in 2017. This event gives us the opportunity to provide scholarships for these students. The event raised more than $20,000 last year.”
