Join more than 100,000 leaders for the largest one-day leadership event in the world

The Lone Star College Office of Organizational Development and the LSC Small Business Development Center have partnered to bring Leadercast Live to Lone Star College.

“At Lone Star College we believe that developing effective leaders is one of the keys to our students’ success and is also a way in which we contribute to the success of the communities we serve,” said Katie Halbert, LSC director of leadership development. “We are delighted to have the opportunity to highlight the importance of personal leadership through the Leadercast event and raise funds for the Lone Star College Foundation.”

“Leadercast Live is broadcast live from Atlanta to hundreds of locations around the world and brings together some of the most recognized and respected global leaders to focus on leadership issues,” said Miguel Lopez, LSC-SBDC executive director. “We are excited to have Lone Star College hosting this very special program.”

The event takes place May 4, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lone Star Community Building, 5000 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77381. Leadercast Live is open to all students, faculty, staff and community leaders. The cost to attend is $60 per person with proceeds going toward student scholarships through the LSC Foundation. “This year, the Leadercast Live stage will feature leaders who will explain the power and importance of leading yourself first so you can successfully lead others,” said Lopez. “This is a perfect opportunity for those who are interested in learning how to develop leadership skills and styles.”

Speakers scheduled to appear include Andy Stanley, leadership communicator and best-selling author; Carey Lohrenz, the first female F-14 Tomcat fighter pilot in the U.S. Navy; Dr. Jim Loehr, world-renowned performance psychologist and co-founder of the Human Performance Institute; and Ian Morgan Cron, best-selling author and psychotherapist.

“Partnering with the Lone Star College Small Business Development Center to host this event is an integral approach to connect business leaders and the community with our students, faculty and staff,” said Halbert.

“The whole day was interesting from start to finish” said Katie Booth, Mount Vernon Nazarene University who attended a previous Leadercast program. “It was valuable to hear from leaders from various fields, as each had different perspectives and experiences. I was able to learn from leaders whom I otherwise would not have known of because I was unfamiliar with their work.”
