Start the new year celebrating Elvis, crafting paper flowers and learning about Key West’s history and benefits of light therapy at Lone Star College-CyFair’s free January workshops.
The Learning, Inspiration, Friendship and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs in January are free and held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library (LRNC room 131 unless otherwise noted) at 9191 Barker Cypress.
- January 10 — Elvis in East Texas: The Origins of the King
Elvis not only walked in Memphis, but also in the Lone Star State. Celebrate the King’s birthday (Jan 8, 1935) with rock and roll historian Steve Davis of LSC-Kingwood.
- January 17 — Paper Flowers
Nicole Gibson guides you through the easy and economical process of creating dazzling paper flowers.
- January 24 — Key West Travels
Key West has a rich history that Rachel Renick, Reference Librarian, will share along with tales of the fun activities that modern-day Key West has to offer. Key West has reopened to tourists after being impacted by Hurricane Irma so information will be shared about how Key West has recovered and is thriving.
- January 31 — Discover the Revitalizing Power of Light
Dr. Shonye Talor of renewu4life.com shows us her polychromatic light therapy equipment and describes its many benefits including brain healing and skin rejuvenation. FREE light therapy sessions.
