Financial aid workshops to help students apply for state financial aid will be held Saturday, Nov. 11 at Lone Star College-CyFair. Parents and guardians are welcome.
The Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) is used to determine eligibility for state financial aid programs, such as grants and work study, for foreign students or non-citizens.
Attendees should bring Social Security information (if available), 2016 federal income tax information for themselves and/or parents (i.e., W2s, tax return, etc.); and other records of money earned (bank statements, records of investments or untaxed income as applicable.)
The Saturday workshops provide students the opportunity to meet with financial aid professionals who will help them complete the TASFA application. Assistance will be available in Spanish. Prizes will also be given away.
Workshops will begin every 45 minutes between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and will be held in LSC-CyFair’s Technology (TECH) Building, room 219, located at 9191 Barker Cypress.
