Financial aid workshops are available in English and Spanish throughout the fall semester. Oct. 10 through Nov. 2., at Lone Star College-CyFair.
These workshops provide students and their families the opportunity to meet with financial aid professionals who will help them apply for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA.)
The FAFSA is used to determine eligibility for federal and state financial aid programs, such as grants, loans and work study.
The TASFA is used to determine eligibility for state financial aid programs, such as grants, loans and work study, for foreign students or non-citizens.
Attendees should bring 2016 federal income tax information for themselves, spouses and parents (i.e., W2s, tax return, etc.); FSA and Social Security or Alien Registration Number; and other records of money earned (bank statements, records of investments or untaxed income as applicable.)
Workshops will be held in English Tuesdays and Thursdays and in Spanish Wednesdays.
Workshops will be held from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. in LSC-CyFair’s Financial Aid Office in the Center for Academic and Student Affairs (CASA), room 105, located at 9191 Barker Cypress.
