TOMBALL, TX – The Lone Star College-Tomball Fine & Performing Arts Department has officially released its calendar of events for the 2017-2018 season.
“This is LSC-Tomball’s most exciting season yet,” said Dr. Lisa Morales, LSC-Tomball Fine Arts chair and music program director. “Not only are our students getting the opportunity to develop and grow as artists in meaningful events throughout the year, we’re thrilled to spotlight community partners from Tomball ISD schools, National Youth Theater, and concerts by the impressive chamber ensemble Terra Nostra as well as the always entertaining Houston Chamber Ringers.”

“We round out the year with professional development opportunities for music educators; additionally, the LSC-Tomball Art Gallery with feature exhibits of the work of artists Jose Reyes and Sande Larson,” Morales pointed out, before adding, “Almost all events are open to the public – we’d love to welcome folks to the fine arts at LSC-Tomball during 2017-18.”
Fall Semester Performances:
Night of Song: “Viva Italia!” October 16 at 7:00 p.m., in the Beckendorf Conference Center.
Spend an evening in Italy with us - it’s National Italian American Month and, in celebration, LSC-Tomball musicians are exploring Italian language, culture, and music through the song literature of the centuries. Enjoy light Italian-themed refreshments in an evening that will culminate in our own special version of “That’s Amore!”
Fall Music Concert: A Halloween Spooktacular. October 24 at 7:00 p.m., in the Performing Arts Center. This Halloween themed and family friendly event features the LSC-Tomball Concert Choir, Jazz Band, and department musicians offering a rousing selection of seasonal favorites. The incredible Tomball Intermediate School Choir will be joining us - bring the family.
Student Musicians in Recital. November 1 at 2:00 p.m. (vocalists); and 3:00 p.m. (instrumentalists), in the Performing Arts Center. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear outstanding student musicians in performance.
The Game’s Afoot by Ken Ludwig. November 10–12, at 7:30 p.m., in the Performing Arts Center. It is December 1936 and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast-members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. Then it’s up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the Christmas holidays.
Tomball Community Holiday Music Extravaganza. December 5 at 7:00 p.m., in the Performing Arts Center. Celebrate the spirit of the season with LSC-Tomball musicians and special guest artists from our community. It’s a not-to-be-missed start to your holiday season.
A Few Flakes: Christmas with Houston Chamber Ringers. December 16 at 7:00 p.m., in the Performing Arts Center. The Houston Chamber Ringers is a professional hand bell ensemble which has been featured in concerts and festivals across the country. Their holiday concerts are entertaining and filled with fabulous new and beloved holiday tunes.
