Students, for whom learning never goes out of style, can get a program overview at the A.L.L. Open House. This event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 18 in the Conference Center on the campus at 9191 Barker Cypress.
Approximately 80 classes are offered each semester in arts and crafts; culinary arts, food and cooking; health, fitness and nutrition; home and auto; photography; science and nature; travel and culture and more.
Among the returning fall favorites are woodworking and other craft classes, cooking and AARP Driver Safety just to name a few. Some of the new classes on the schedule include Joy of Bird Feeding, Calling All Puzzlers and Archaeology of New Orleans.
An annual membership fee of $20 allows members to attend most classes free (with some requiring only a nominal event, supply or entrance fee.)
Other benefits of membership include use of the college gym, discounts at plays, concerts, movies and restaurants.
