TOMBALL, Texas – To prepare for hurricane season which begins June 1, CenterPoint Energy will conduct a Staging Site Drill on the Lone Star College-Tomball campus May 23 and 24.

CenterPoint will occupy the area around the Beckendorf Conference Center. On these days, the community is asked to avoid this area of campus, including the east parking lot, to ensure the safety of everyone on campus as well as the success of the drill itself.

In the aftermath of a disaster, staging sites serve as the organizational area for local and mutual assistance crews to gather the necessary materials for the restoration of the community. The number and size of staging sites run by any organization will depend greatly on the severity of damage to a community.  Many of these staging sites will be set-up throughout the Houston area. LSC-Tomball could be a potential staging site should the local area be severely impacted.
