LSC-University Park's Honors College will show case student research and projects at its Fall Semester Undergraduate Research Day next Friday, Dec. 9, on campus.

Activities begin with a welcome from Director Brian Kyser at 9 a.m. in West Dining and then move into various classrooms and labs for student presentations that will be judged by administrators, faculty and staff.

"Our Undergraduate Research Day is really a semester capstone for honors students, and those who are chosen to present that day have the best research projects in their respective classes," Kyser said.  These students compete again at Undergraduate Research Day for the opportunity to present at state and national conferences.

LSC-University Park President Shah Ardalan says the day shows educators, parents and talented prospective students just how many opportunities are available on campus. "We offer small, challenging classes for top students, and we want the community to know how much our students grow by engaging in their own research," he said.

The Honors College provides high-achieving students challenging coursework and a variety of opportunities for research and engagement. Students can choose classes and concentrations that lead to honors in research designations that are noted on transcripts and at graduation.

Spring semester honors classes at LSC-University Park include offerings in art, history, humanities, speech, government, English and psychology.
