excite the senses by highlighting the sights, sounds and tastes of countries like Japan, Mexico and many more. The free event will be held Wednesday, April 20, from 11 a.m.- 2p.m., in the fountain area in front of the Student Services Center (Building C).
Global Awareness Day is put on by the International Student Organization (ISO) and is open to the public. There will be plenty of entertainment, including endangered animals from the Houston Zoo, international dance performances and a multicultural fashion show featuring students in their countries’ traditional dress. Participants will receive a passport to guide them through the day’s activities.
“The goal of the event is to celebrate
the differences and similarities among people to build understanding and
appreciation for all,” said Terry Rich, ISO advisor at LSC-Montgomery. “Every year
Global Awareness Day gets better and better. This year’s lineup pushes our
understanding of cultures. The best entertainment and cuisine are yet to come.
Don’t miss it!”
