Lone Star College will host a series of career fairs to help those looking to enter the workforce, or find a better job in health care, technical/skilled trades, and professional and administrative services.
“Job seekers can meet with and develop relationships with potential employers which can lead to employment opportunities,” said Linda Head, LSC associate vice chancellor, workforce education and corporate partnerships. “Lone Star College works with many local companies and these events are an important part of our mission to not only train our students for tomorrow’s workforce, but assist them in finding meaningful employment.”
The LSC Health Care & Supportive Services Career Fair takes place April 7 and will be held in the Health Science Building at LSC-Montgomery from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The LSC Technical Careers & Skilled Trades Career Fair will be held April 12 in the Student Services Building at LSC-North Harris from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
The LSC Professional Careers & Administrative Services Career Fair will take place April 28 in the LSC-CyFair College Center Building from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Companies scheduled to appear include AirServ Corp., Cleveland Healthcare Center, Huntsville Memorial Hospital, City of Houston, Stewart & Stevenson, BH Management Services, LLC, Dunbar Armored, and Execu Team Staffing. The career fairs are hosted by the Lone Star College Office of Workforce Education and Corporate Partnerships and offer military veterans VIP admission 30 minutes before doors open to the general public. In addition, prior to the career fair April 12 at LSC-North Harris, the Centurion Military Alliance is partnering with LSC on a Warrior Transition Program from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. offering resume writing assistance, mock interviews and other employment training for military personnel, veterans and spouses.
Job seekers must dress professionally as on-site interviews may take place and a resume is required for admission. Attendees are also urged to bring multiple copies of their resume which can be left with employers.
