Lone Star College-Tomball police Officers Richard Huetra, Taun Nguyen and Karen Curtis were publically honored for providing live-saving assistance to a LSC-Tomball library visitor who had passed out and was unresponsive.
In recognition of his efforts of performing CPR to resuscitate the patient who lay unresponsive, Officer Huerta was awarded the LSC Police Department Lifesaving Medal. All three officers were publicly recognized by Paul Willingham, LSC chief of police, at a ceremony held at LSC-Tomball.
“I am very proud of the way these officers worked together as team to assist someone in need,” said Willingham. “Their heroic efforts helped revive an incapacitated citizen and saved their life.”
The event occurred in November and as Officer Huerta performed CPR, Officer Curtis retrieved the automated external defibrillator and Officer Nguyen provided medical escort. “The patient was revived through these efforts and has made a full recovery,” Willingham said. Officers Curtis and Nguyen were awarded Letters of Commendation for their roles in saving the life of this LSC visitor.
