Lone Star College-University Park invites students and their
families, community members and collaborators to attend its first Friends &
Family Night from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
President Shah Ardalan said, "I made a promise to build the community's college here and our enrollment has blossomed as we have met our promise."
The event will give community members a look at opportunities available at LSC-University Park and provide families a chance to see where their student attends classes and studies.
LSC-University Park enrolls more than 11,000 students in credit and continuing education courses. The college's students reflect the diversity of Greater Houston, including a growing Hispanic population, Ardalan said.
"We have a wonderful campus and we are expanding our offerings," Ardalan said. "We would love for all of our neighbors and our students' family members, friends and co-workers to stop by and get to know more about us."
Representatives from a wide variety of academic and workforce programs will be on hand to discuss the college's offerings and answer questions. Attendees will be able to attend short information sessions in English and Spanish.
Friends & Family Night takes place on the second floor of Buildings 12 and 13. Enter the campus complex from the second floor of Parking Garages 10 and 11. Parking is free.
Attendees can tour the campus, participate in fun activities, including a photo booth, meet Leo, the campus mascot, and enjoy free food, beverages and giveaways.
