Children can explore Science, Technology, Engineering and MATH (STEM) this October with the “STEMtastic Stations” program at Lone Star College-CyFair.
“In this fun learning event, we will explore science and engineering principles as we utilize simple materials to construct the tallest tower,” said Shamim Arastu. “In addition, we will create and race balloon powered rockets. Pre-service teachers will be facilitating the event and we are excited to have our future teachers work with the children in the community.”
Two sessions will be held Saturday, Oct. 24 in the Kids’ Corner in the library at 9191 Barker Cypress. The 10:00 - 10:45 am session is designed for ages 5-6, while the 11:00 - 11:45 am session is designed for ages 7-10.
Parents must accompany children at the sessions, which are limited to 25 participants, and all are asked to arrive an hour in advance to receive a session ticket. Take home experiments will be given to all participants.
