Lone Star College has a new kiosk at Willowbrook Mall.
LSC-University Park President Shah Ardalan announced the new venture and said future students who want to enroll in credit and workforce programs can now come to the mall to talk with admissions specialists.
“It’s important for us as a community college, and more importantly, as this community’s college, to make our services readily available to the public at convenient times and places,” Ardalan said.
He added that the kiosk staff will provide information about all LSC programs and can help students enroll at all LSC locations. “We think this innovative approach to outreach and enrollment,” he added. “It will make the public more aware of the excellent career paths that start at Lone Star College.”
The new kiosk is located near the food court and was very busy during its first weekend of operation, he added.
The college will operate the kiosk through mid-October. Regular hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
Deshonta Holmes, LSC-University Park’s associate dean of admissions and outreach, said LSC-University Park and LSC-Tomball worked together to establish the kiosk as a way of raising awareness about both campus locations. Both colleges are located along the State Highway 249 corridor. “We decided this would be a great way for us to connect and raise awareness,” she said.
