Humanities faculty member Amy Hirsch has taken over as the new director of The Honors College. She replaces Jason LaPres, who has accepted an interim dean position at LSC-CyFair.

Hirsch teaches Honors Humanities I Prehistory to Gothic and has taught several other humanities and English courses during her teaching career at Lone Star College. She has worked for the college since 2007 in both student services and instructional roles.

"University Park has some of the most inspiring and talented students and faculty in the system," Hirsch said. "I'm excited to work with them, both to continue the great efforts of The Honors College at University Park and to explore the new and creative directions that are yet to come."
