What cool things go on in Lone Star College-CyFair classes? Find out at the annual Student Symposium set April 30.

Stop in the Health Science Center Building (HSC 1) between 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. for this afternoon conference that showcases student research, art, creative writing and other works representative of the different disciplines offered at LSC-CyFair.

This event gives professor-nominated students across campus an opportunity to present their academic work through poster displays and unique presentations.

While attending professors get to observe their students apply knowledge learned in new ways, participating students gain confidence in their public speaking skills, improve networking skills, feel a sense of pride in their academic work and can add the experience to their resume.

“The symposium not only honors the finest academic achievements of students, but gives them, as well as audience members, including family members of students, friends and faculty members, an opportunity to see what’s being done in various subject matters across campus,” said Kisha Cormier, professor of visual communication.  “It’s nice to see the students dress for the occasion, many in neck ties and business/dress suits, with their presentation notes in tow as they get ready to present their outstanding work to conference visitors.”
