Lone Star College-CyFair’s Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) degree plan offers a Paraprofessional Cohort Program uniquely designed for paraeducators currently in the field that leads to a Texas Teacher Certification.

Paraeducators should first apply for AAT, then register for two linked courses, EDUC 1301-5l13 and MATH 1350-5L03, which will transfer to any four-year university.

The Introduction to the Teaching Profession course is offered as a hybrid format with face-to-face class held 6 p.m. – 7:20 p.m. Thursdays with additional online assignments. The Math Foundations I face-to-face class meets 4:30 p.m. – 5:50 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The pre-requisite is MATH 1314 – College algebra or placement by testing. Both classes will be located in the Health Science Center, room 143.

Registration begins April 8 for the fall semester which begins Aug. 24.
