Congratulations to the Lone Star College-CyFair’s Staff Excellence Award winners Rhonda Holstien, Tashemia Jones, Chris Longoria and Debbie Seidel, for their outstanding contributions to the college and vision of excellence.

Holstien was an LSC-CyFair founding employee, hired as a staff assistant in 2003. She was promoted to Division Operations Manager at LSC-Montgomery in 2005, but left in early 2006 to pursue her bachelor’s degree full time.  After earning a B.S. in Professional Writing from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2008, she worked in marketing for an international laboratory company until 2011.  Holstien returned to LSC-CyFair in July 2011 as Division Operations Manager for Social Sciences and Advanced Technology.

Jones began as a Coordinator in Student Life at LSC-CyFair in 2012.  She transferred to Academic Affairs in May 2014 as Program Coordinator.  In November, she was given the opportunity to return to her passion in Student Life as the Interim Program Manager. Jones has a master’s in Liberal Arts from Texas Christian University and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Higher Education Leadership with an emphasis in community colleges from Texas Tech University.

Longoria started at LSC-CyFair in 2007 as a Staff Assistant for Project Great under the Transitional Studies division, then moved to the Business and Communication Studies division in 2008 as a Division Coordinator, now called Division Operations Specialist. Longoria is currently pursuing an associate of arts degree.

Seidel started out as the Staff Assistant for the Science and Public Services division in August 2005. She was promoted to Division Coordinator in August 2006 for the same division and has been there since that time. Seidel has earned an Associate of Applied Science in accounting from LSC-North Harris and is currently pursuing a B.B.A. from University of Houston-Downtown.

All four of these dedicated staff members will be among those recognized at system-wide and college-wide award events later this spring.
