Don’t miss the “American Icons” exhibition featuring the talents of Houston area artist Al Nash on display in the Lone Star College-CyFair Bosque Gallery Jan. 20 – Feb. 12.
Nash’s interest in becoming an artist had shown throughout high school persisted through graduation from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. However, he never worked a single day as an artist ... until 2006 when he after 26 years he retired as a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army and returned to his first love ... painting.
Expressing themes such as patriotism and social comment, this open exhibition is an eclectic collection of media ranging from oils or acrylics to prismacolor and graphite on canvas, wood, hardboard and paper. Sizes vary as well as style ranging from realistic to pop art.
Come to enjoy the exhibition and return to meet the artist in person at a reception from 4:30 - 6:30 pm Thursday, Feb. 5.
The Bosque Gallery is located in the Center for the Arts building on the Barker Cypress campus at 9191 Barker Cypress.
