Students sharing how their Lone Star College-CyFair experience has influenced their life could win $1,000 scholarship.
Lone Star College Foundation is hosting the 22nd annual Student Essay Challenge and the deadline for essay submissions is Monday, Nov. 24. Click here to download an information sheet with rules, guidelines, prize information, and more.
Students must be enrolled full-time in credit classes at LSC-CyFair and have successfully earned a high school diploma or GED certification. Students should not already have a degree but should be working on their first credential or degree.
The annual topic of "How my Lone Star College experience has influenced my life” should highlight and detail how the impact of a student’s educational experience has shaped and directed their life. Among the evaluation criteria will be expressive writing style, grammar, form and emotional impact.
The winner will present their essay at the Chancellor's Breakfast Jan. 27, 2015 and will also be asked to participate in other Foundation activities during the Spring semester.
The essay submission should not exceed two typed pages, be properly formatted and double-spaced and include contact information (name, address and phone numbers.) Essays should be submitted on or before Monday, Nov. 24 to Gail Marxhausen at Gail@lonestar.edu.
