Halloween is a time for scary
good fun, but for children with special needs and their families, it can be
just plain scary. That’s why, on Tuesday, October 28, from 5-7 p.m., students
of the Lone Star College-Tomball Occupational Therapy Assistant Program (OTA) are hosting their 4th Annual
Halloween Carnival for children with special needs at the LSC-Tomball Health
Science Building.
The carnival is free, open to the
community, and will feature a mystery maze, photo booth, cookie decorating,
games, crafts, candy and prizes. The goal of the carnival (an academic
assignment for OTA students) is to provide an innovative learning opportunity
where children with special needs and their families can come together and
share a community experience.
“The activities are designed to
address issues specific to children with special needs, including gross motor
skills, sensory matters, and perceptual challenges, as well as provide a safe
and fun environment for all in attendance,” said Dr. Terra Ruppert, LSC-Tomball
occupational therapy assistant program director.
The LSC-Tomball Health Science Building is located at 700 Graham Drive in Tomball. For more information, call 281.826.5394.
