The Certified Nurse Aide Certificate (C.N.A.) program at LSC-North Harris is designed to meet and exceed the state requirements for Nurse Aides. If you are looking for an exciting career in healthcare, this program maybe just what you are looking for.
There is currently a high-demand for Certified Nurse Aides in the healthcare industry. The program provides students with the knowledge and essential skills needed to offer basic care to residents of long-term care facilities, as well as assisting patients in their own homes. These patients can include children with special needs and patients recovering from injuries.
The next session begins October 8, with an additional session being offered November 10. Upon program completion, students take the Texas Nurse Aide State Exam for certification.
The job outlook for a Certified Nurse Aide is expected to increase 20 percent by 2020, with an average income of $24,000 a year. Incomes may vary depending on job position.
