The Lone Star College-Tomball Theatre Department presents DreamWorks Theatricals’ “Shrek: The Musical.” Performances are scheduled for July 10 through July 13.

Part romance, part twisted fairy tale, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre — not a handsome prince — shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won't shut up, a bad guy with a short temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got irreverent fun for everyone. Nightly performances will take place Thursday, July 10 through Saturday, July 12 at 7:30 p.m. Matinee performances will take place on Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13, at 2 p.m.

In addition to the play, the theatre department will be hosting Funtime & Photos with Shrek and Friends on Saturday, July 12, 11 a.m. to noon, in LSC-Tomball’s Black Box Theatre located within the Beckendorf Conference Center. Light snacks will be served and children will have their photo taken with the characters in the musical. Advanced reservations are required.

Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for seniors, $10 for people age 18 and under, and $8 for LSC students with their student ID. Group discounts are available. Reservations are recommended. The performances will take place in the Lone Star College-Tomball Performing Arts Center located at 30555 Tomball Parkway in Tomball. Tickets for Funtime and Photos with Shrek and Friends are $10 by advance reservation only.
