Ryan Ferguson spent 10 years in prison after being convicted for a murder he didn’t commit, relentlessly trying to prove his innocence. He will tell his story at Lone Star College-Tomball on Thursday, February 20 at 11:30 a.m. in the Beckendorf Conference Center. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
“I am an ordinary 29 year old guy from Columbia, Missouri, but sadly, my life so far has been anything but ordinary. At the age of 19, I was arrested and charged with a crime, a murder that I had no involvement in,” said Ferguson. Ferguson was convicted and sentenced to 40 years of his life behind bars. He lost his entire 20’s.
Ferguson’s case has been highlighted multiple times on 48 Hours, Dateline, Nightline and several other news programs which brought to light the injustice his family and he dealt with.
“With a hard fight from my incredible family, the extraordinary work of my attorney and over 100k supporters, justice could no longer be ignored. I was released on November 12, 2013. The fight for my freedom took 10 years, but after 10 years, are you ever really ‘free?’” he said. “The fight, however, must go on. Since being out I have supported multiple other wrongful convictions and have been on pretty much every major news network advocating for change. My future is largely uncertain but one thing remains constant, my efforts to spread awareness and help others will never cease. A difference can be made!”
