Registration for three and four-week courses, known as “mini-mesters,” along with the 2014 spring term at Lone Star College-University Park will begin Monday, Nov. 18.
The three-week winter mini-mester will run Dec. 16 through Jan. 5, 2014, while the four-week winter mini-mester will run Dec. 16 through Jan. 12, 2014. Classes for the spring 2014 term begin Jan. 13, 2014.
Generally offered in December and May, mini-mesters are just one of several ways to earn college credit at LSC-University Park. “Mini-mesters are fast track classes that assist students in earning credits quickly to fit into their busy schedule,” said Dr. Lawrence Brandyburg, vice president of instruction and student services. “Mini-mesters allow students to take a typical 16-week course in a condensed three or four-week period.”
Select courses are available in accelerated time frames and meet the standard number of contact hours.
LSC-University Park advisors are available to assist students with the registration process. The office of academic advising can answer questions regarding course selection, degree plans, transfer information and information regarding graduation requirements. Students can call 281.290.2600 or email upadvising@lonestar.edu for more information. Registration offices are open Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
