Lone Star College’s Small Business Development Center will be presenting the third installment of its Business Success Seminar series for local businesses on November 1, 2013, 1:30 - 2:30 p.m., in the Lone Star College-Tomball Community Library, Room L-139. The seminar is free and open to the public.
“Affordable Care Act, You and Your Business, and HR Law Concerns” addresses the many ways the Affordable Care Act can affect businesses and answers questions about its implementation. The seminar will be followed by a discussion of the latest developments in employment law and a general Q&A. The presenters, Michael Starzyk, J.D., and Paul Rinnan, J.D., of Starzyk & Associates, PC, are employment law specialists located in The Woodlands.
“We want to help businesses grow, survive and succeed in our local area,” said Karen Sharp, senior consultant for the Small Business Development Center. “No-cost seminars such as our Business Success Seminar series, as well as other professional consulting and training, can give local businesses the tools they need to thrive in our area.”
The Small Business Development Center (in conjunction with Lone Star College-Tomball Community Library; Greater Tomball Area, Greater Magnolia, Magnolia Parkway and Houston Northwest chambers of commerce; and the Tomball Economic Development Corporation) designed its Business Success Seminar series to help keep local entrepreneurs up to date on the latest aspects of managing their business as well as provide a vehicle for networking and sharing experiences with other business owners.
