Lone Star College System Doctoral Support Group to host Grad School Expo

The Lone Star College System Doctoral Support Group will be hosting a Grad School Expo at the LSC-University Park  Conference Center Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Grad School Expo was created as way to assist LSCS employees who are interested in learning more about continuing their education in a master’s or doctoral program. Officials said the public is also invited to attend.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for those interested in furthering their education to learn more about the process,” said Dr. Daria J. Willis, LSCS DSG leader. “The DSG Grad School Expo was designed to assist and encourage people as they pursue a path to advance their education.”

Session topics include Terminal Degree Overview, Beginning and Completing the Doctoral Degree, and Life after the Degree. Representatives from more than 20 universities will also be on hand throughout the day to answer questions and provide information on master’s and doctoral degree programs.

As an educational institution, LSCS encourages all its employees to further their education through various programs. In many cases, tuition reimbursement is offered for employees and when an advanced degree is completed, faculty and staff members are eligible for a one-time Education Attainment payment award.

The tuition reimbursement program for faculty and staff is only one benefit among a long list of benefits offered to LSCS employees.
