Center Advisory Council is pleased to announce BBVA Compass as the title
sponsor for its 27th Annual Small Business of the Year Awards to be
held Thursday, Nov. 14.
“Small businesses play a critical role in the economic future of our communities,” said Amos McDonald, North Houston district retail executive for BBVA Compass. “That’s why we support events like this that recognize the hard work of entrepreneurs in the markets where we operate.”
A leading U.S. banking franchise with operations throughout the Sunbelt region, BBVA Compass has been recognized as one of the nation's leading Small Business Administration (SBA) lenders. In addition, BBVA Compass is the fourth largest bank in Texas and ranks among the top 25 largest U.S. commercial banks based on deposit market share.
“BBVA Compass’s commitment to small businesses makes it a perfect partner for this event” said Sal Mira, executive director of the LSCS-SBDC. “BBVA Compass understands the needs of small business and is able to provide the right support to help them succeed and grow.”
This annual event recognizes successful small businesses that make an impact in the local community. Small-business owners are selected on the basis of leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, business growth and success, and contribution to the community.
Three finalists from each of the six college service areas will be announced next week and ultimately one winner from each college area will be named.
The LSCS-SBDC works with companies to help them get started, grow and compete in today's global economy. SBDC services are available for companies in every phase of the business life cycle, helping entrepreneurs make sound decisions and succeed.
